Harlequin
Medical Romance
by Lilian Darcy
Long-Lost
Son: Brand-New Family

Cyclone,
romance and family: amazing medical romance series finale
Lilian
Darcy's Long Lost Son:
Brand-New Family, the fourth
book
in the Crocodile Creek
24-Hour Rescue
series is a brilliant finale to an incredible 4 book Harlequin Medical
Romance series set during a cyclone. Weddings and disaster combine to
present a romance of medical drama and emotion. Although this book
works well as a stand alone, it is worth the time to hunt down the
entire series.
Janey Stafford
is on her way to Crocodile Creek to introduce her
nephew to his father, Luke Bresciano. Her recently departed sister had
nothing good to say about Luke, but then again her judgment about
medicine wasn't always the greatest. Can Janey trust Luke? On the route
to Crocodile Creek, with a cyclone approaching, they're involved in an
accident. Janey is hospitalized, and her nephew goes missing. Luke
stays by her bedside and Janey sees a side of Luke that just doesn't
mesh with her sister's actions or words. Can Janey and Luke find the
child and discover the reason by his current situation? What possible
effect can her shocking news have on them all?
In Lilian
Darcy's Long Lost Son:
Brand-New Family, the
reader finally hears the story of Felixx, the mysterious boy whose
story gave emotional depth, intrigue and background in the three
previous books. The romance and the characterization in this fourth
book center around Felixx, a boy who is dealing with the death of his
mother, a bus crash and the cyclone. Through Felixx, the reader sees
the goodness in both Janey and Luke as they try to put his interests
first. As they reach pout to him, they see new sides of each other.
The previous
three books gave a reader the larger context of
disaster preparedness and response as a background. Now Lilian Darcy
narrows the focus to one little boy and the emotional toil on his life.
As the hero and heroine reach out in compassion towards another, their
passion for one another takes ahold. Lilian Darcy's romance includes an
absolutely beautiful emotional scene about kids and wildlife animals,
turning the vision to the role cyclones can play in nature and in
relation to humans. Emotion, medical drama and compassion for others
all mix to make this a romance one that will leave the reader quietly
amazed at the fine mix of tenderness and rich depth.
Lilian Darcy's Long Lost Son: Brand-New Family is the
embodiment of all that is so special and unique about the Harlequin
Medical Romance line. The medical setting moves the romance between the
hero and heroine outwards, expanding from passion towards compassion in
a way that brings a happy ending to other lives. The medical scene can
provoke sadness, suspenseful life and death situations here that leave
a reader on the edge of the seat which is definitely the case in Long
Lost Son: Brand-New Family.
The medical setting also creates an atmosphere in which the
professionalism and goodness of the characters come forth in a way that
makes the romantic pull believable. Romance is a genre known for happy
endings, but in a medical romance, bad things can happen on the way to
the happy ending. Realism and romance here make a unique blend, a
wonderful satisfying complement to the whole short romance genre. I
find this line, this series, and this particular book addictive because
nothing is predictable except the good feeling one gets at the end. You
don't have to be a medical person to appreciate this book. I am SO not
medical and squeamish as well but I loved this book.
Shopping
advice
Unfortunately,
these Medical Romances are very hard to find and are
not available in most bookstores except if and when the publisher does
special promotions. Harlequin Medical Romances are available by
subscription from the publisher or online at eHarlequin.com and used of
course and sometimes by ebook from the publisher. These books sell out
very fast, often in the first month of release and even used, they are
difficult to find. If you have the opportunity to get this book or even
better the entire series in good condition, don't even hesitate to
snatch them up because they might be gone! I won't even lend this book
out for fear of not getting it back.
